الوصف

أربعة مصابيح زيتية عثر عليها من العصر الهلينيستي. ويتكون كل مصباح من فتحة في الأمام، للإضاءة؛ وفتحة في الوسط، من أجل ملئ المصباح بالزيت.

وتختلف ألوان المصابيح، من الأسود إلى البني إلى البني الفاتح. وتحمل المصابيح نقوشا زخرفية ذات أشكال هندسية أو نباتية.  

وكانت المصابيح تصنع أحيانا خالية من أية نقوش؛ كما هو الحال مع مصباحين في هذه المجموعة. ولقد عثر على هذه المصابيح أثناء أعمال حفائر أجريت في موقع مكتبة الإسكندرية.

Four oil lamps were found from the Hellenistic period. Each lamp consists of an opening at the front for the purpose of illumination, and an opening in the middle in order to fill the lamp with oil. 

The colors vary from black to beige to red, and the decorations are geometrical and floral. 

Sometimes lamps are made without any decoration, as is the case with two of the lamps in this group. These oil lamps were found during excavations at the location of the Alexandria Library.

Quatre lampes à huile de l'époque hellénistique. Chaque lampe dispose d'une ouverture à l'avant, pour l'éclairage, et d'une au centre pour remplir le réservoir d'huile. 

Les couleurs des lampes varient entre le noir, le beige et le rouge, et les décorations sont toutes géométriques et florales. 

Les lampes ne portent parfois aucune décoration, comme c'est le cas pour deux de ces lampes. Ces lampes à huile ont été trouvées lors de fouilles sur le site de la Bibliothèque d'Alexandrie.
