Shawabties are small statues placed in the tomb to take the place of the dead and doing the heavy work that was needed in the Netherworld. The name Shawabti comes from the verb wesheb meaning "to answer", as they had to obey all the orders given to them. 

These shawabties in their wooden box were made of faience. They are wearing the long tripartite wig, and their arms are crossed on their chests. 

The small shawabties are called frits; they were mass-produced without attention to detail.

Les ushabtis sont de petites statues placées dans la tombe pour prendre la place du mort et accomplir toutes les tâches difficiles dans l'autre monde. Le nom d'ushabtis provient du verbe «wesheb» signifiant "répondre," car ils doivent obéir à tous les ordres qui leur sont donnés. 

Ces ushabtis dans leur boîte en bois sont en faïence. Elles sont coiffées de longues perruques tripartites et leurs bras sont croisés sur leurs poitrines. 

Ces petits ushabtis sont appelés des frittes; ils étaient fabriqués à la chaîne sans soigner les détails.

الشوابتيات تماثيل صغيرة توضع في المقبرة لتحل محل المتوفى وتقوم بأداء المهام الثقيلة نيابة عنه في العالم الآخر. وتأتي كلمة "شوابتي" من الفعل "وشيب" بمعنى "يجيب"؛ إذ أن على الشوابتيات أن يطعن كافة الأوامر التي تعطى لهن.  

وصنعت هذه الشوابتيات، داخل صندوقها الخشبي، من خزف القيشاني. وهي ترتدي باروكات شعر مستعار ثلاثية، وقد تقاطعت أذرعها فوق صدورها.  

ويطلق على الشوابتيات لفظ "فريتات"؛ وكانت تصنع على نطاق واسع، دون اهتمام بالتفاصيل. .
