Description
This limestone figurine, which comes from the excavations of W. F. Petrie at Rifeh in 1907 and which was part of the Lunsingh Schleurleer collection, represents a group of monkeys probably composed of a male and a female accompanied by their children. The figurine, which has been subjected to great damage, seems to be unfinished: the representation of the youngster which is seated in front of the mother is limited to a simple sketch. The piece bears several stripes of red colour.
