BrE.2881(1).jpg
BrE.2881(2).jpg

The upper part of this greywacke amulet is decorated with two highly stylized bird's heads facing outwards. The trapezium-shaped body is notched at the bottom. Similar amulets are frequently found in Predynastic burials, often in pairs. They were possibly worn as pendants or tied to the body with leather strings. The precise meaning of these objects is unknown.
