This limestone funerary statuette represents a couple side by side. Dressed in large wigs, they are wearing a sheath of a mummy from where emerge the crossed hands. The piece was part of the category of joint shabtis, which normally stand against a tablet often containing funerary texts. This Brussels exemplar, which probably dates from the New Kingdom, does not carry any inscriptions.
