Green-glazed faience amulet in the form of the jackal-headed god Anubis, left foot forward. The suspension hole at the back of the waist served to attach the figure, probably to the coverings of a mummified body. As god of embalming, Anubis was appropriate protector of the dead, and such figures are common in Late Period sets of funerary amulets.
