Description
A row of disc-shaped beads cut from ostrich eggshells that adorned the ankle of the deceased. Numerous pieces of jewellery of this type are presented. Ostrich eggshell was a material highly appreciated by ancient Nubian peoples. For a long time, the animal lived in the Nubian desert, as is witnessed by its appearance in rock art and vase decorations.

Un rang de perles discoïdes taillées dans des tests d'oeuf d'autruche, et qui ornait la cheville d'un défunt. De nombreux bijoux de ce type sont présentés. La coquille d'oeuf d'autruche est un matériau très apprécié des populations nubiennes anciennes et l'animal a longtemps vécu dans le désert nubien, en témoignent les représentations rupestres et les décors des vases.
