Description

One the many dishes with a flat base, flared body ending in a flat-edged lip, produced during the Middle Kingdom. The clay is coarse, common, orange and has been polished. This was done more carefully on the inside, the surface of which has also been covered with a light reddish slip and a more obvious red line.

L'une des nombreuses coupelles produites au Moyen Empire, avec fond plat, panse évasée terminée par une lèvre à tranche plate. La pâte grossière, commune, orangée est lissée, plus soigneusement à l'intérieur qui a été également recouvert d'une légère couche rougeâtre et d'un trait mieux marqué à l'ocre rouge.
