Description
This lid of a canopic jar in terracotta comes from the excavations of the Egypt Exploration Fund at Abydos in 1900. The head of the canine is distinguished by an upwards tilted muzzle and by its very large pointed ears. The eyes are made of small balls of clay, emphasized by yellow lines. The wig is ornamented by several horizontal and vertical lines of the same colour. This type of lid probably dates from the end of the New Kingdom.

Dit deksel van een canopenvaas in terracotta is afkomstig uit de opgravingen van het Egypt Exploration Fund te Abydos in 1900. Het hoofd van de hondachtige wordt gekenmerkt door een snuit die naar boven gericht is en door zeer grote puntige oren. De ogen zijn gemaakt uit kleine bolletjes in klei, geaccentueerd door gele strepen. De pruik is versierd met verschillende horizontale en verticale lijnen van dezelfde kleur. Dit type deksel dateert waarschijnlijk uit het einde van het Nieuwe Rijk.
Ce couvercle de vase canope en terre cuite provient des fouilles de l'Egypt Exploration Fund à Abydos en 1900. La tête de canidé se distingue par un museau orienté vers le haut et de très grandes oreilles pointues. Les yeux sont fabriqués de petites boules en argile, accentuées par des traits jaunes. La perruque est ornée de plusieurs lignes horizontales et verticales de la même couleur. Ce type de couvercle date vraisemblablement de la fin du Nouvel Empire.
Dieser Deckel eines Kanopenkruges aus gebranntem Ton stammt aus den Grabungen des Egypt Exploration Fund in Abydos im Jahr 1900. Der Kanidenkopf besitzt eine nach oben gerichtete Schnauze und sehr große spitze Ohren. Die Augen bestehen aus kleinen Tonkugeln, die mit gelber Farbe betont sind. Die Perücke ist mit mehreren horizontalen und vertikalen Linien derselben Farbe verziert. Dieser Deckeltypus datiert wahrscheinlich in das Ende des Neuen Reiches.
Questo coperchio di vaso canopo di terracotta proviene dagli scavi dell' Egypt Exploration Fund ad Abydos nel 1900. La testa di canide si distingue dal muso volto verso l'alto e dalle grandi orecchie appuntite. Gli occhi sono fabbricati con sferette di argilla, accentuate da tratti gialli. La parrucca é ornata da numerose linee orizzontali e verticali dello stesso colore. Questo tipo di coperchio data verosimilmente alla fine del Nuovo Regno.
Esta tampa de vaso de vísceras de terracota provém das escavaçöes do Egypt Exploration Fund em Abidos, em 1900. A cabeça de canídeo distingue-se por um focinho elevado e duas grandes orelhas pontiagudas. Os olhos foram feitos com duas pequenas bolas de argila pintadas de amarelo. A peruca está ornada com muitas linhas horizontais e verticais da mesma cor. Este tipo de tampa de vaso de vísceras data certamente de finais do Império Novo.
