Description

Classic tubular bread mould. The orifice is unrestricted and the base perforated. Such unbaked bread moulds are found at Mirgissa/Iken, still stacked together before firing.

Moule à pain tubulaire de forme classique. L'ouverture est légèrement évasée, ainsi que le fond, perforé. On retrouve, à Mirgissa/Iken, ces moules à pain en terre crue, encore entassés sur des foyers, avant leur cuisson.

Material: 
Terre cuite. Pâte commune en argile du Nil comportant un dégraissant fortement micacé. La cuisson est irrégulière et la couleur de la surface varie du beige orangé au gris.

État de conservation: 
Reconstitué.
