Description
The sun god Re was very important for the deceased. A dead person crossed the underworld and the night sky in the bark of Re, and was born again in the morning. The Re amulet shows the god as a human with a falcon's head. He is wearing a short kilt and has a sun disc on his head.

De zonnegod Re was erg belangrijk voor de doden. Een overledene reisde door de onderwereld en de nachtelijke hemel in de bark van Re, en werd 's ochtends hergeboren. Het Re-amulet toont de god als een mens met een valkenkop. Hij draagt een korte rok en heeft een zonneschijf op het hoofd.
Le dieu soleil Rê était important pour les défunts. Chaque nuit, il parcourait l'au-delà dans sa barque et pouvait renaître au matin. Cette amulette représente le dieu Rê sous la forme d'un être humain à tête de faucon. Il est vêtu d'un pagne court et sa tête porte le disque solaire.
