A pair of large, heavy gold ear-rings of a ribbed design, with a single bar to pierce the lobe.The ear-rings were discovered by Henry Salt and he is said to have removed them from the ears of a mummy.

Een paar grote, zware gouden oorbellen met geribbelde decoratie, met een plug om door de oorlel te steken. De oorbellen zijn gevonden door Henry Salt; hij zou ze verwijderd hebben uit de oren van een mummie.
Une paire de grandes et lourdes boucles d'oreilles en or à dessin incisé et une seule tige pour percer le lobe. Les boucles furent découvertes par Henri Salt et on dit qu'elles ont été arrachées des oreilles d'une momie.
Ein Paar große, schwere goldene Ohrringe mit Rippenmuster und einem einzelnen Stäbchen, zum Durchstecken in das Ohrläppchen. Die Ohrringe wurden von Henry Salt entdeckt. Es heißt, daß er sie aus den Ohren einer Mumie gezogen habe.
Un paio di larghi orecchini d'oro pesante a scanalature, con una barretta singola per forare il lobo. Gli orecchini furono scoperti da Henry Salt e si disse che li avesse rimossi dalle orecchie di una mummia.
Um par de brincos grandes de ouro, pesados, com um desenho canelado e uma barra única para furar o lóbulo da orelha. Os brincos foram descobertos por Henry Salt, que disse tê-los removido das orelhas de uma múmia.
Un par de pendientes largos de oro macizo, con una única varilla para pasar el lóbulo. Los pendientes fueron descubiertos por Henry Salt y se dice que los extrajó de las orejas de una momia.

From the private collection of Joseph Mayer, given to the museum in 1867. For more information see Record 1 M13519 Liverpool Museum, Object History. The ear-rings originally belonged to the Consul-General, Henry Salt and Joseph Sams bought them in 1835 in the London sale following his death. Joseph Mayer then purchased the Sams collection.
