Description
A fine ovate jar made from pottery with a red slip which is lightly burnished. The jar has a high, narrow neck with a splayed rim. The colour is just a shade darker on the lower half of the jar.

Fraaie eivormige kruik van aardewerk met een licht gepolijste rode slip. De hals is lang en nauw, met een zich verwijdende rand. Op de onderste helft van de kruik is de kleur een tintje donkerder.
Élégante jarre ovale en terre cuite couverte d'un engobe rouge légèrement poli. Elle est dotée d'un col haut et étroit et d'un bord tourné vers l'extérieur. La moitié inférieure de la jarre est de couleur plus foncée.
Ein schöner ovaler Tontopf mit leicht geglätteter roter Engobe. Der Topf hat einen hohen, schmalen Hals mit ausladendem Rand. Die untere Hälfte des Gefäßes ist etwas dunkler.
Giara ovale di terracotta con uno strato di vernice rossa brunita. La giara presenta un collo alto e sottile ed un orlo allargato. Il colore è di una sfumatura più scura rispetto alla parte bassa della giara.
Jarro oval, feito em cerâmica, com engobo vermelho, ligeiramente polido. O jarro apresenta pescoço alto e estreito, com rebordo chanfrado. A coloraçao consiste em tonalidade escura sobre a metade inferior do jarro.
Magnífico vaso ovalado de cerámica con engobe rojo ligeramente bruñido. El vaso tiene cuello alto y estrecho con el borde abierto. El color de la parte inferior del vaso es de un matiz más oscuro.

From excavations carried out by Garstang at Beni Hassan in the early 1900's, the jar passed into the private collection of J.H.T Danson and then to the Castle Museum, Norwich. It was purchased from there by Liverpool in 1956 as part of a large mixed collection.
