Description
A jar from the Faiyum with the face of the god Bes crudely modelled on the surface in incised and applied relief. Since Bes was a household god he was both an appropriate and popular decorative theme on domestic pottery.

Kruik uit de Fajoem met ruw gemodelleerd gezicht van de god Bes, in ingesneden en opgebracht reliëf. Aangezien Bes een huisgod was geldt hij als passend en populair thema op huishoudelijk aardewerk.
Jarre provenant du Fayoum. Elle comporte le visage du dieu Bès sommairement façonné en relief sur la surface. En tant que dieu protecteur de la maison, il constituait un sujet décoratif courant et populaire pour les terres cuites domestiques.
Ein Gefäß aus dem Faijum mit den roh modellierten Gesichtszügen des Gottes Bes in eingeritztem und appliziertem Relief. Da Bes ein Haushaltsgott war, war er ein passendes und weitverbreitetes Motiv auf Hausgeschirr.
Giara proveniente dal Faiyum, con il volto del dio Bes, grezzamente modellato sulla superficie in rilievo inciso ed applicato. Dal momento che Bes era il dio della casa rappresentava un tema decorativo appropriato e popolare sulla ceramica domestica.
Jarro proveniente de Faium, com face do deus Bes, rudemente modelada, gravada e aplicada em superfície de relevo. Sendo Bes um deus doméstico, assumia-se como tema decorativo, apropriado e comum, na cerâmica doméstica.
Vaso procedente del Fayum con la cara del dios Bes burdamente modelada en la superficie en un relieve aplicado. Dado que Bes era el dios del hogar era un tema decorativo apropiado y adecuado para la cerámica doméstica.
