General Comment
The head was found at Tyre and is apparently made of a local stone. The Phoenicians adopted New Kingdom style, by then several centuries old, for their own art. As there were strong trade links between Egypt and Phoenicia there may also have been some interchange between the artists and craftsmen. Provenance: The head was found at Tyre on the Lebanon. Site: The head was found at Tyre, a port in the Lebanon.
