Description
This bronze object is comprised of a long rectangular "socle" on which an animal is found of which the main part is presented as a serpent surmounted by a human head and of which the body takes the form of an eel. It is in effect the sarcophagus of an eel, the sacred animal of the god Atum. In the cosmogony of Heliopolis, it was considered as the demiurge, floating in the Waters of Nun and setting creation in motion.

Dit bronzen voorwerp bestaat uit een lange rechthoekige "sokkel" waarop zich een dier bevindt waarvan het bovenste gedeelte zich voordoet als een slang met een menselijk hoofd en waarvan het lichaam de vorm van een aal heeft. Het betreft in feite een sarcofaag van een aal, heilig dier van de god Atoem. In de kosmogonie van Heliopolis werd hij beschouwd als de scheppingsgod die in de wateren van de Noen dreef en die de schepping in het werk stelde.
Cet objet en bronze se constitue d'un long "socle" rectangulaire sur lequel se trouve un animal dont la partie supérieure se présente comme un serpent surmonté d'une tête humaine et dont le corps prend la forme d'une anguille. Il s'agit en effet d'un sarcophage d'anguille, animal sacré du dieu Atoum. Dans la cosmogonie d'Héliopolis, il était considéré comme le démiurge, flottant dans les Eaux du Noun et mettant en oeuvre la création.
Dieser Bronzegegenstand besteht aus einem langen "Sockel", auf dem sich ein Tier befindet, dessen Vorderteil wie eine Schlange mit menschlichem Kopf aussieht und dessen Körper der eines Aales ist. Tatsächlich handelt es sich um den Sarkophag eines Aales, eines heiligen Tieres des Gottes Atum. In der Schöpfungslehre von Heliopolis galt er als Demiurg, der in den Wassern des Nun trieb und das Werk der Schöpfung in Gang setzte.
Questo oggetto di bronzo é costituito da una lunga "base" rettangolare sulla quale si trova un animale la cui parte superiore si presenta come un serpente sormontato da una testa umana e il cui corpo prende la forma di un'anguilla. Si tratta in effetti di un sarcofago di anguilla, animale sacro al dio Atum. nella cosmogonia di Heliopolis, era considerato il demiurgo, fluttuante nelle acque del Nun e operante la creazione.
Este objecto de bronze é constituído por um pedestal oco e rectangular sobre o qual se encontra um animal cuja parte superior se assemelha a uma serpente com uma cabeça humana e cujo corpo tem a forma de uma enguia. Trata-se de facto do sarcófago de uma enguia, o animal sagrado do deus Atum. Na cosmogonia de Heliópolis, Atum era considerado como o demiurgo flutuando nas águas do Nun, onde procedeu à criaçäo da vida.
Este objeto de bronce está formado por un largo "pedestal" rectangular sobre el que aparece un animal cuya parte superior aparece representada como una serpiente con una cabeza humana y con el cuerpo de una anguila. De hecho, se trata del sarcófago de una anguila, el animal sagrado del dios Atum. En la cosmogonía de Heliópolis, era considerado como el demiurgo, que flotaba en la Aguas del Nun y ponía en marcha la creación.
