Description
Varnished polychrome painted wooden shabti of the head doorkeeper Ramose. In the late New Kingdom several dozen such crude, brightly painted figures might be placed in shabti boxes at the burial. Although it does not bear the shabti formula, its purpose is to carry out any hard manual tasks required of the deceased in the afterlife.
