Description
Wooden sculptured canopic jar lid with a human face from a Middle Kingdom burial at el-Riqqeh, near the 12th Dynasty Residence Itjtawy. Canopic jar lids of the Middle and early New Kingdoms have human head form, but later the human head was reserved for just one of the four sons of Horus, Amset.

Bewerkt houten deksel van canopenvaas in de vorm van een mensenhoofd uit een graf uit het Middenrijk te el-Riqqeh, vlakbij de residentie van de 12e Dynastie, Ititawy. Deksels van canopenvazen hadden in het Middenrijk en het vroege Nieuwe Rijk de vorm van een mensenhoofd, maar later werd het mensenhoofd uitsluitend gebruikt voor een van de vier Horuszonen, Amset.
Couvercle de vase canope en bois sculpté, pourvu d'un visage humain. Il provient d'une tombe du Moyen Empire, située à Riqqa, près d'Itjtawy, résidence des rois de la XIIème Dynastie. Les couvercles des vases canopes du Moyen Empire et du début du Nouvel Empire arboraient des têtes humaines. Plus tard, cette forme fut réservée à l'un des quatre Fils d'Horus, Amset.
Kanopenkrugdeckel aus geschnitzten Holz mit einem menschlichen Gesicht aus einem Grab des Mittleren Reiches in Riqqeh in der Nähe von Itj-taui, der Residenz der 12. Dynastie. Kanopenkrugdeckel des Mittleren und des frühen Neuen Reiches haben die Gestalt eines Menschenkopfes, aber später war dieser auf nur eines der vier Horuskinder, Amset, beschränkt.
Coperchio di vaso canopo scolpito in legno con una faccia umana, proveniente da una tomba del Medio Regno a El-Riqqeh, vicino alla residenza della XII Dinastia di Itjtawy. I coperchi di vasi canopi del Medio Regno e dell'inizio del Nuovo Regno hanno forma di testa umana, ma in seguito la testa umana fu utilizzata solo per uno dei quattro figli di Horo, Amset.
