Description
Small cosmetic vessel of calcite (Egyptian alabaster) with constricted neck and thick rim, from a burial at the 1st Dynasty cemetery at Tarkhan, between Memphis and the Faiyum. The grave contained the body of a man, lain facing toward the east, with the head to the north, and measured 30 by 60 by 78 inches. Beside the three types of pottery vessels were found six stone vessels, a mark of moderately wealthy status.

Klein cosmeticavaasje van calciet (Egyptisch albast) met nauwe hals en dikke rand, uit een bijzetting in het grafveld uit de 1e Dynastie in Tarchan, tussen Memphis en de Fajoem. Het graf bevatte het lichaam van een man, met het gezicht naar het oosten en het hoofd naar het noorden neergelegd, en mat 30 bij 60 bij 78 inches. Naast drie typen aardewerken vaten werden zes stenen vaten aangetroffen, een teken van redelijk rijke status.

Piccolo recipiente cosmetico di calcite (alabastro egiziano) con collo ristretto e orlo spesso, proveniente da una tomba del cimitero della Prima Dinastia a Tarkhan, fra Menfi ed il Fayum. La tomba conteneva il corpo di un uomo, steso verso est, con la testa a nord e che misurava 30 per 60 per 78 pollici. Oltre ai tre tipi di vasi di terracotta sono stati trovati sei vasi di pietra, segno di un moderato livello di ricchezza.
