Description
Wooden mallet with massive head, showing signs of use, and slender handle, apparently in a different variety of wood. It was found in the temple to the cult of king Nebhepetra Mentuhotep, of the Middle Kingdom, but the excavators dated it to the end of the New Kingdom, when the temple was systematically quarried for stone to build new royal monuments.
