Description
Well-preserved wooden comb with convex sides and double set of teeth. Some of the mud remains over the surface, from the Roman Period rubbish heaps in which this comb was found, in the provincial city of el-Bahnasa, ancient Oxyrhynchus. The Romans introduced into Egypt the fashionable practice of wearing combs as part of elaborate hairstyles.

Goed bewaarde houten kam met convexe zijkanten en dubbele rij tanden. Iets van de modder op het oppervlak is bewaard gebleven. Dat is afkomstig van de afvalhopen uit de Romeinse Periode waarin de kam gevonden is in het provinciestadje el-Bahnasa, het oude Oxyrhynchus. De Romeinen introduceerden de modieuze gewoonte om kammen te dragen als onderdeel van ingewikkelde kapsels.
Peigne en bois bien conservé, aux côtés convexes, avec double rangée de dents. Un peu de terre crue subsiste sur la surface de l'objet découvert dans une décharge datant de la Période Romaine, dans la ville de Bahnasa, l'ancienne Oxyrhynchos. En Égypte, le port du peigne dans les coiffures élaborées est une innovation romaine.
Guterhaltener Holzkamm mit konvexen Seiten und einer Doppelreihe von Zinken. An der Oberfläche haftet noch etwas von dem Schlamm aus den römerzeitlichen Abfallhaufen, in denen dieser Kamm gefunden wurde, in der Provinzstadt el-Bahnasa, dem alten Oxyrhynchos. Die Römer führten den modischen Brauch, Kämme in aufwendigen Frisuren zu tragen, nach Ägypten ein.
Pettine in legno ben conservato con i lati convessi ed una doppia serie di denti. Sulla superficie vi sono dei resti di fango che provengono dai cumuli di immondizie del periodo romano in cui il pettine fu trovato. L'oggetto è stato ritrovato nella città provinciale di El-Bahnasa, l'antica Oxyrhynchus. I Romani introdussero in Egitto la pratica di indossare i pettini come parte di un'acconciatura elaborata.
Pente bem conservado, com lados convexos e dentes duplos. Tem ainda vestígios da lama à superfície, dos montes de lixo do Período Romano como aquele em que este pente foi encontrado, na cidade de Bahnasa, antiga Oxirrincos. O romanos introduziram no Egipto a prática de usar pentes como parte de penteados elaborados.
Peineta de madera bien conservada con lados convexos y una doble fila de dientes. Sobre la superficie queda algún resto de barro, procedente del montón de deshechos en el que fue encontrado, en la ciudad provincial de Bahnasa, la antigua Oxyrrinco. Los romanos introdujeron en Egipto la moda de llevar peinetas como parte de elaborados peinados.
