Description
Iron nail with round head, and bent end. Iron became the predominant material for domestic metalware under Roman rule, in the first centuries AD. This example was excavated at the large provincial town of Oxyrhynchus, famous for the vast finds of papyri of the Roman Period.

IJzeren spijker met ronde kop en gebogen eind. IJzer werd het meestgebruikte materiaal voor huishoudelijke metaalwaar in de Romeinse Periode, in de eerste eeuwen van onze jaartelling. Dit exemplaar is opgegraven in de grote provinciestad Oxyrhynchus, beroemd om de grote vondsten van papyri uit de Romeinse Periode.
Clou en fer à tête arrondie, courbé à l'extrémité. Le fer devint le matériau prédominant dans la fabrication d'ustensiles domestiques en métal, sous domination romaine, au premier siècle de notre ère. Ce clou a été découvert dans la grande ville provinciale d'Oxyrhynchos, célèbre pour ces nombreux papyrus datant de la Période Romaine.
Eisennagel mit rundem Kopf und verbogenem Ende. Eisen wurde unter römischer Herrschaft, in den ersten Jahrhunderten n. Chr., das vorherrschende Material für Haushaltsgegenstände aus Metall. Dieses Exemplar stammt aus der großen Provinzstadt Oxyrhynchos, die berühmt ist für die riesigen Funde römerzeitlicher Papyri, die dort gemacht wurden.
Chiodo in ferro con la testa rotonda, e l'estremità piegata. Il ferro divenne il materiale predominante per il vasellame di metallo durante il dominio romano, nei primi secoli a.C. Questo esemplare è stato riportato alla luce nella grande città provinciale di Oxyrhynchus, famosa per i numerosi ritrovamenti di papiri databili al Periodo Romano.
