Finely modelled amulet in brilliant <!-->turquoise-blue faience, in the form of the djed-pillar. The djed was closely associated with Osiris, god of the dead; the word djed means 'stability', resistance to change, in the Egyptian language. Djed-pillars are among the most common funerary amulets.
