Painted terracotta canopic jar lid with human face, roughly modelled. Canopic jar lids of the Middle and early New Kingdoms have human head form, but later the human head was reserved for just one of the four sons of Horus, Amset.

Beschilderde terracotta deksel van een canopenvaas met menselijk gezicht, ruw gemodelleerd. Deksels van canopenvazen uit het Middenrijk en het vroege Nieuwe Rijk hebben altijd de vorm van een menselijk hoofd, dat later echter gereserveerd werd voor slechts een van de vier Horuszonen, Amset.
Couvercle de vase canope en terracotta peint, arborant un visage humain sommairement modelé. Au Moyen Empire et au début du Nouvel Empire, les couvercles des vases canopes affectent la forme d'une tête humaine; plus tard, seul Amset, l'un des quatre Fils d'Horus, conservera cette forme.
Bemalter Kanopenkrugdeckel aus gebranntem Ton mit einem grob modellierten, menschlichen Gesicht. Kanopenkrugdeckel des Mittleren und des frühen Neuen Reiches besitzen stets menschliche Köpfe, aber später war der Menschenkopf auf ein einziges der vier Horuskinder, Amset, beschränkt.
