The Global Egyptian Museum

The marble stand was sculpted to display the foot of Isidorus. The semicircular vertical column is topped with a square base. The front side is flat, very well polished, and inscribed with nine lines in Greek, painted in red. 

The back is semicircular and less polished. It was found together with the foot and they are displayed together. The foot is an example of the very good work in the Antonines period of the second century AD, showing the nice details of the toes and nails. 

The sandal is of the Roman type called "Calcius Patricius," which signifies the high social rank of Isidorus in Alexandria.

نحتت القاعدة الرخامية لعرض قدم ايسيدورس، حيث يعلو الأسطون القائم شبه الدائري قاعدة مربعة، ويستوي السطح الأمامي الذي بلغ غاية الصقل وقد نقش بسطور إغريقية تسعة بلون أحمر. أما ظاهره فشبه دائري وأقل صقلاً.

عثر عليه وعلى القدم معاً كما يعرضان معاً. حيث يتجلى القدم مثلاً رائعاً على روعة العمل في العصر الانتوني بما يرى فيه من حسن تفاصيل أصابع القدم والأظافر. 

وينتمي النعل إلى الطراز الروماني المسمى كالسيوس باتريكس الذي يدل على ما كان لايسيدورس في الإسكندرية من منزلة اجتماعية رفيعة.
