The Global Egyptian Museum

This tall storage jar has a wide neck, flared lip, and rounded base. It has two small handles from below the lip to the shoulder. 

The body of this jar is undecorated, except at the shoulder where a short Greek text is written in red, perhaps to identify the contents of the jar. 

The body is obviously wheel-made but the roughness and the polish of the handles suggest that they are hand-made.

Ce petit récipient servant au stockage est doté d'un large col et d'une base arrondie. Il a deux petites poignées allant de sous le bord jusqu'au renflement. 

Le corps de ce récipient n'est pas décoré, à l'exception du renflement sur lequel un court texte en grec est inscrit en rouge, peut-être pour identifier le contenu du récipient. 

Le corps a de toute évidence été fabriqué avec un tour mais la rugosité et le raffinement des poignées laissent penser qu'elles ont été façonnées à la main.

وعاء تخزين طويل، برقبة متسعة وشفة متموجة وقاعدة مستديرة. وللوعاء مقبضان صغيران؛ بين الشفة والكتف. 

وبدن الوعاء غير مزخرف، باستثناء جزء تحت الكتف؛ حيث يوجد نص إغريقي مكتوب باللون الأحمر على الإناء؛ ربما للتعريف بمحتوياته. 

ومن الواضح أن البدن قد شكل على عجلة الفخراني، ولكن من خشونة ولمعان المقبضين؛ يشتق أن هذين صنعا يدويا.
