This stela contains parts of an inscription attributed to King Taharqa, a Nubian who ruled Egypt during the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty, and who is known as Tirhaka in the Bible. It commemorates his mother's trip from Napata, in Nubia, to Tanis, in the Nile Delta. Taharqa also records that he traveled north from Nubia with a king, probably King Shabaka, when he was 20 years old.
