Fans of this kind were carried in Pharaonic processions next to the throne. They always appear on both sides of the king or immediately behind him. 

In fact, the Fan Bearer held what was considered to be one of the highest positions among court officials. 

This fan stock is ebony veneered with decorative motifs made of tree bark. Its top is shaped like a papyrus umbel, or petal cluster, with its calyces, or outer leaves, and stem. At the lower end, a knob in the form of an inverted papyrus umbel, or petal cluster, of the lotus is found. The ostrich feathers of this fan were so decayed that only the shafts of the feathers remained. The top of the fan is shaped like an outstretched hand with fingers apart. 

The stock at the top into which the quills were inserted show that it once held 48 feathers. The palm of the fan contains the cartouche of the King, "Neb Kheperu Ra."

Des éventails de ce type étaient portés lors des processions pharaoniques à côté du trône. Ils apparaissaient toujours des deux côtés du roi ou immédiatement derrière lui. 

En fait, le porteur de l'éventail occupait ce que l'on considérait comme étant l'une des plus hautes fonctions parmi les officiels de la cour. 

Le manche de cet éventail est en ébène plaqué de motifs décoratifs en écorce d'arbre. Sa partie supérieure est en forme d'ombelle, ou groupe de pétales, de papyrus avec ses calices, ou feuilles externes, et sa tige. On voit à la base de l'éventail, un noeud en forme d'ombelle, ou groupe de pétales, de papyrus du lotus. Les plumes d'autruche de cet éventail étaient en tellement mauvais état que seuls les tuyaux des plumes sont encore présents. La partie supérieure de l'éventail est en forme de main tendue avec les doigts écartés. 

Le manche du haut dans lequel les plumes étaient insérées montre qu'il a un jour contenu 48 plumes. On peut voir sur cet éventail le cartouche du roi, "Neb Kheperu Ra".

صمم الجزء العلوى من مقبض هذه المروحة على شكل زهرة بردى أو حزمة بتلات بوريقاتها وساقها. أما فى الطرف السفلى فنجد عقدة على شكل زهرة بردى مقلوبة أو حزمة بتلات لوتس. 

كانت المراوح من هذا النوع تمسك خلال الطقوس الفرعونية. وكانت دائماً ما تظهر على جانبى الملك أو خلفه مباشرة. وفى الواقع فإن حامل المروحة كان يعد من أعلى الناس مكانة فى البلاط الملكى. ومقبض هذه المروحة مغطى بقشرة من خشب الأبنوس عليها نقوش من لحاء الشجر. 

وقد صمم جزؤه العلوى على شكل زهرة بردى أو حزمة بتلات بوريقاتها وساقها. أما فى طرفه السفلى فنجد عقدة على شكل زهرة بردى مقلوبة أو حزمة بتلات لوتس. وريش النعام المستخدم فى هذه المروحة قد بلى تماماً ولا يبقى منه سوى قصبات الريش. وكان يعطى شكل يد مفرودة بأصابع متباعدة. 

وبملاحظة مكان غرس الريش أعلى المقبض أمكن التعرف على أن هذه المروحة كان بها ثمانية وأربعون ريشة. وقد نقش على اليد اسم الملك "نب خبرو رع".
