The Global Egyptian Museum

This rectangular box was found in the annex of King Tutankhamun's tomb. It stands on four slim elegant legs and the panels are made of cedar wood. 

At the bottom of the box is an alternating decoration of fretwork hieroglyphs. The Tyet sign, the symbol of the blood of Isis as well as the knot in the girdle of Isis, or "a magical amulet for protection," and the Djed sign, which means stability, or "the backbone of the god Osiris," stand on the "Neb" sign for gold. 

The inside of the box is divided into two sections and it possibly contained the king's linen. Both the mushroom-shaped handles of the box and the lid are gilded wood and have been incised with the king's cartouches.

Ce coffre rectangulaire fut retrouvé dans l'annexe de la tombe du roi Toutânkhamon. Il repose sur quatre pieds et ses panneaux sont en bois de cèdre. 

Sur le fond de ce coffre se trouve des motifs placés en alternance composés de chantournements de hiéroglyphes. Le Tit, symbole du sang d'Isis et nœud de sa ceinture, ou "amulette protectrice", et le pilier Djed, symbole de stabilité, ou "colonne vertébrale du dieu Osiris", se trouvent sur le signe Neb signifiant "or". 

L'intérieur du coffre est divisé en deux parties qui contenaient peut-être le linge du roi. Gravés des cartouches de Toutânkhamon, les poignées en forme de champignon et le couvercle sont en bois doré.

عثر على هذا الصندوق المستطيل فى ملحق مقبرة توت-عنخ-آمون. وهو يرتكز على أربعة أرجل جميلة ورشيقة، كما صنعت لوحاته من خشب الأرز. 

وفى قاع الصندوق نجد زخارف تبادلية لعلامات هيروغليفية مفرغة. علامة تيت التى ترمز لدم إيزيس والعقدة التى فى ثوبها كما تعتبر أيضاً تميمة سحرية للحماية، وعلامة جد وهى تمثل العمود الفقرى لأوزوريس، وكانت ترمزللأستقرار، وتقف كل علامة فوق علامة نوب بمعنى الذهب. 

وينقسم الصندوق من الداخل إلى قسمين وربما كان يحتوى على كتان الملك. أما مقبضا الصندوق وغطاؤه فهما من الخشب المذهب، كما نقش عليهما خراطيش الملك توت-عنخ-آمون.
