Description
The gold cow might have been used as an amulet or a piece of inlay. Attached to its neck is a sistrum, which is a musical rattle and symbol of the goddess Hathor. In Ancient Egypt, the cow is Hathor's sacred animal. Hathor is the goddess of beauty, music, goodness, and maternity. Many temples, chapels, and statues were made in her honor.

Cette vache en or a pu être utilisée comme amulette ou pièce d'incrustation. Un sistre, crécelle musicale et symbole de la déesse Hathor, est attaché autour de son cou. Dans l'Egypte ancienne, la vache est l'animal sacré de Hathor. Hathor est la déesse de la beauté, de la musique, de la bonté et de la maternité. إستخدمت هذه البفرة كتميمة أو قطعة للزينة ومعلق برقبتها آلة موسيقية تصدر أصواتا كالصلاصل وهى رمز الربة "حتحور" وإعتبرت البقرة حيوان مقدس فى العصور القديمة وكانت حتحور ربة للجمال والخير والأمومة والموسيقى معاً. وهناك تماثيل ومعابد كثيرة شيدت على شرفها.
