Description
This white, stuccoed stool is covered with a folded lattice of string supported on each side by three thin struts of wood. Carpenters sat on stools with three legs, which allowed the stools to rest evenly on the workshop floor during work time. The folding stool was originated during the Middle Kingdom.

Ce tabouret en stuc blanc est recouvert d'un treillis de ficelles soutenu de part et d'autre par trois fines traverses de bois. Afin que les tabourets à trois pieds reposent de façon égale sur le sol, les menuisiers s'asseyaient dessus au cours de leur élaboration. Le pliant remonte au Moyen Empire.
يغطى هذا المسند المطلى بالجص الأبيض شبكة من الحبال، يمسكها ثلاث عضادات رفيعة من الخشب على كل جانب. وكان النجارون يجلسون على كراسى بثلاثة أرجل بحيث يمكن موازنة وضع الكرسى على الأرض أثناء العمل. وكانت الكراسى التى يمكن طيها معروفة منذ عصر الدولة الوسطى.
