Description
The statue depicts a man wearing a wig with horizontal stripes on the front and vertical ones on the sides, a double row collar, and a short kilt. He is shown in the traditional sitting position still adopted by Egyptian peasants nowadays. His left leg is folded under his right leg and his right foot is flat on the ground. Both hands are on his knees. His features are unusual, especially the wide mouth and closed eyes.

Cette statue représente un homme portant une perruque aux rayures horizontales sur le devant et verticales sur les côtés, un collier à deux rangées et un kilt court. Il est représenté dans la position assise traditionnelle encore adoptée par les paysans égyptiens de nos jours. Sa jambe gauche est pliée sous sa jambe droite et son pied droit est à plat sur le sol. Ses deux mains sont posées sur ses genoux. Ses traits sont inhabituels, tout spécialement sa large bouche et ses yeux fermés.
يصور هذا التمثال رجلاً يلبس شعراً مستعاراً مزيناً بخطوط أفقية من الأمام ورأسية على الجانبين، وقلادة بصف مزدوج ونقبة قصيرة. وقد صور الرجل جالساً على الطريقة التقليدية التى يجلسها الفلاحون المصريون حتى الآن. فساقه اليسرى مثنية أسفل ساقه اليمنى كما أن قدمة اليمنى مسطحة على الأرض. ويضع الرجل يديه على ركبتيه. وملامح وجهه غير معتادة خاصة الفم العريض والعينان المغلقتان.
