Description
This statue depicts Imhotep seated with his hands holding a papyrus. He was usually portrayed in this attitude because he was considered the Patron of Writing and Science and was recognized in literature as one of the great "wise men" of the past. He wears a long kilt and a necklace around his neck. Imhotep is sitting on a low back seat that rests on a rectangular base.

Cette statue représente Imhotep assis avec les mains tenant un papyrus. Il était généralement représenté dans cette attitude car il était considéré comme étant le patron de l'écriture et de la science et était reconnu dans la littérature comme un des grands "sages" du passé. Il porte un long pagne et un collier autour de son cou. Imhotep est assis sur un siège à dossier bas posé sur une base rectangulaire.
يصور هذا التمثال إمحتب جالساً وقد أمسك فى يديه بردية. وكان ايمحتب دائماً ما يصور فى هذا الوضع حيث كان يعتبر رباً للكتابة والعلم، كما عرف فى الأدب على أنه الرجل الحكيم العظيم من الماضى. وقد صور ايمحتب هنا وهو يجلس على كرسى بظهر منخفض موضوع على قاعدة مستطيلة، ويلبس نقبة طويلة وقلادة حول عنقه.
