Description
The subject of this statue, Taharqa, is in a classic Egyptian pose. His features suggest his Nubian origin. This statue depicts the king standing with a cylindrical object in his hand. He wears the pleated kilt called the Shendyt. It is held in position by a large belt on which his name is engraved. The statue was discovered without its head and had been broken into six pieces.
