Description
Among the most important animal cults was the bull cult, which was mentioned in Egyptian writings as far back as the First Dynasty. This statue of the Apis Bull, the living image of Osiris and Ptah, is a traditional representation. The bull carries the sun disk and the uraeus, or royal cobra, between its horns. It has a distinctive diamond mark on its forehead. The protective wings of the vulture goddess are engraved on its back.

Le culte du taureau fait partie des cultes animaliers les plus importants. Il apparaît dans les écritures égyptiennes dès la première dynastie. Cette statue du taureau Apis, image vivante d'Osiris et de Ptah, est une représentation traditionnelle. Le taureau a un disque solaire et un uraeus, ou cobra royal, entre ses cornes. Il a une marque distinctive en forme de diamant sur son front. Les ailes protectrices de la déesse vautour sont gravées sur son dos.
كانت عبادة الثور من أهم عبادات الحيوان، والتى كانت قد ذكرت فى الكتابات المصرية القديمة منذ عصر الأسرة الأولى. ويمثل هذا التمثال الثور أبيس، الصورة الحية لأوزوريس وبتاح فى صورته التقليدية، حيث يضع على رأسه قرص الشمس والصل المقدس أو الكوبرا الملكية بين قرنيه. كما أن له علامة مميزة عبارة عن بقعة بيضاء على جبهته، ويحمى ظهره جناحا النسرة.
