Description
Amenhotep the Second is represented here in the form of the god Ta-tenen completely nude, except for a piece of cloth that hangs from a girdle between his thighs. The garment is sculpted with admirable delicacy and detail. His eyes and eyebrows are inset. The statue was painted, but only a few traces of color are still visible. The hieroglyphic inscriptions on the statue give the name and the titles of Amenhotep the Second as "Lord of the Two Lands, Beloved of Amun-Re and King of the Gods."
