The Global Egyptian Museum

From the Amarna period, many toys of wood and limestone depicting monkeys by themselves or riding carts drawn by other monkeys were found among the ruins of the houses and palaces. 

This demonstrates the fondness for animals of the Amarna royal children: the six daughters of Akhenaten and the one probable son, Tutankhamun, from whose collection this toy comes. It is in the shape of a small monkey with moveable arms.

Un grand nombre de jouets en bois et en calcaire issus de la période amarnienne furent retrouvés parmi les ruines des maisons et des palais. Ces jouets représentent des singes seuls ou sur des charrettes tirées par d'autres singes. 

Cela démontre l'affection portée aux animaux par les enfants royaux d'Amarna, dont les six filles d'Akhénaton, et le fils présumé Toutânkhamon. Ce jouet provient d'ailleurs de la collection du futur enfant-roi. Il a la forme d'un petit singe avec des bras mobiles.

عثر من عصر العمارنة على كثير من اللعب الخشبية ضمن خرائب البيوت والقصور تصور القردة وحدها أو في مركبات تجرها القردة. 

وفي ذلك يدل على ما حظي به هذا الحيوان من حب أطفال العمارنة من العائلة المالكة، أي حب بنات إخناتون الست وربما ابنه توت عنخ آمون، ذلك الذي صدرت إلى النور من مجموعته تلك اللعبة. وهي في شكل قرد صغير ذي ذراعين متحركين.
