Description
Metri was a chief royal scribe during the Fifth Dynasty. Metri's wife, the owner of this statue, was a priestess of the goddess Hathor. Her statue is made of one piece of painted wood. She is portrayed standing and wearing a long tripartite wig and a long, tight dress. The legs and feet are in poor condition. Her neck is adorned with the large Usekh collar and two bracelets are on her arms.

Metri occupa le rôle de chef scribe royal au cours de la cinquième dynastie. Propriétaire de cette statue, son épouse fut l'une des prêtresses de la déesse Hathor. Cette statue fut réalisée à partir d'une seule pièce de bois peint. Coiffée d'une longue perruque tripartite, l'épouse de Metri porte une longue robe serrée. Ses pieds et ses jambes sont en piètre état. Son cou est orné d'un collier Ousekh et ses bras de deux bracelets.
كان مترى رئيس الكتبة الملكيين فى زمن الأسرة الخامسة. وكانت زوجته، صاحبة التمثال إحدى كاهنات المعبودة حتحور. وقد صنع تمثالها هذا من قطعة واحدة من الخشب الملون، وهو يصورها واقفة، وتضع على رأسها شعراً مستعاراً ذا ثلاث قطع كما تلبس رداءاً طويلاً ضيقاً. وتزين الرقبة القلادة المسماة وسخ، بينما يزين ذراعيها سواران. وللأسف فإن الساقين والقدمين فى حالة سيئة.
