The Global Egyptian Museum

This wooden statuette portrays a standing nude girl with three plaits of hair on her back. 

Originally, ancient Egyptian sculptors preferred not to chisel out the spaces between the arms and the body or the spaces between the legs in order to prevent them from being broken. 

In this case, the sculptor had to chisel these spaces, especially those between the legs, to depict the nude figure accurately.

Cette statuette en bois représente une jeune fille nue avec trois tresses qui retombent sur son dos. 

A l'origine, les sculpteurs de l'Egypte ancienne préféraient ne pas ciseler les espaces entre les bras et le corps ou les espaces entre les jambes afin d'éviter qu'ils ne se cassent. 

Toutefois, dans le cas présent, le sculpteur cisela les espaces entre les jambes afin de représenter avec minutie le nu.

يمثل هذا التمثال الخشبى الصغير فتاة تقف عارية وتنسدل على ظهرها ثلاث خصلات من الشعر. 

عادة، لم يكن الفنان المصرى القديم يفضل نحت الفراغ بين الذراعين والجسم أو الفراغ بين الساقين حتى لا تكون أطراف التمثال عرضة للكسر. 

ولكن فى حالة التمثال الذى أمامنا، كان على الفنان أن ينحت هذه الفراغات خاصة تلك التى بين الساقين كى يعرض بدقة التمثال عارياً
