The Global Egyptian Museum

The fishing weight is an oval stone with a hollow strip in the middle to be attached by a string to the net. It is the same shape as a pulley. 

This kind of weight was depicted in fishing scenes on the walls of Old Kingdom tombs. The weights are shown attached to a large net, three on each side; eight fishermen, standing on a boat made of papyrus plants, hold the net, which is full of various kinds of fish.

Ce poids pour la pêche est une pierre ovale composée d'une bandelette creuse attachée par une corde au filet. Il a la même forme qu'une poulie.

Ce genre de poids était dépeint dans les scènes de pêche sur les murs des tombeaux de l'Ancien Empire. Les poids sont attachés à un large filet, trois de chaque côté. Huit pécheurs debout dans un bateau composé de plantes de papyrus tiennent le filet, empli de poissons variés.

ثقل لصيد السمك من حجر بيضاوي الشكل، بشريط أجوف في الوسط؛ لربطه بخيط إلى الشبكة. وللثقل نفس شكل البكرة التي يلتف حولها الخيط. 

ولقد صور هذا النوع من الأثقال في مناظر صيد السمك على جدران مقابر الدولة القديمة. وتظهر فيها الأثقال مشدودة إلى شبكة صيد كبيرة، بواقع ثلاثة على كل جانب. ويظهر ثمانية صيادين واقفين على ظهر قاربين؛ ممسكين بشبكة مليئة بمختلف أنواع السمك.
