Description
This dish in smooth bronze, with a round base, is provided with a lid, probably realised by hammering of a metal sheet. This lid also served as a sieve, as it is pierced with small holes, made to form of a lotus flower. Similar dishes in silver were discovered in several sites from the eastern Delta. These finds are dated from the middle of the 5th century BC and are considered as cult objects offered at the temples of the Delta.
