The head is broken off a large wooden statue that had been over 1 m. high. The face is badly damaged, its features being hardly recognisable. The curled spherical wig covers the ears. The greater part of plaster coating is lost; traces of black pigment remain on the wig and eyes, and of red pigment on the face.

The statue comes from the collection of Turaev who probably bought it in Egypt, although the method of acquisition is not recorded. In 1920 the statue was acquired by the Hermitage with the collection of Turaev.

Provenance: 
The statue comes from the collection of Turaev who probably bought it in Egypt, although the method of acquisition is not recorded. In 1920 the statue was acquired by the Hermitage with the collection of Turaev.

Preservation: 
The nose tip is lost, the surface is cracked, only traces of plaster coating and painting remain.
