Wife of Pharaoh Ramses II. She was already deified during her lifetime, and one of the rock temples at Abu Simbel is dedicated to her and to the goddess Hathor of Abshek. Nefertari is particularly famous for her beautifully decorated tomb in the Valley of the Queens. After a long period of restoration, this tomb was once again opened to the public in the 1990s.
