Purple-painted pottery vase with perforated handles for suspension cord. The style of decoration is typical of the wares placed in burials of the elite during the Naqada II Period. This example was excavated at Hierakonpolis, which was then developing from a series of small settlements into one of the most important cities in Upper Egypt.
