00223#2.jpg 00223#3.jpg

The statuette represents Osiris sitting, his feet resting on a rectangular base with a tenon. His body is enveloped in a tightly fitting mummy gown leaving exposed only his hands holding a crook and a flail; he wears an atef-crown, a pleated artificial beard and a broad collar. The whites of the eyes had originally been inlaid with gold or electrum. The statuette is an exquisite example of Saite metalwork.
