Statuette of Osiris

This exquisite statuette represents Osiris sitting, his feet resting on a rectangular base with a tenon. His body is enveloped in a tightly fitting mummy gown leaving exposed only his hands holding a crook and a flail; he wears an atef-crown with ram's horns and uraeus, a pleated artificial beard, a broad collar and bracelets. The eyes, eyebrows, beard and its strings, collar, bracelets, elements of the attributes are inlaid with gold. The statuette is an outstanding example of Saite metalwork.
