This intaglio in carnelian should fit into a mount in order to assure its bearer of a total protection against each malicious attack. The lower part bears magical signs under which are noted the Greek vowels lacking all logical meaning. The piece dates from the Graeco-Roman Period.

Deze intaglio in kornalijn <!-->moet in een montuur bevestigd geweest zijn teneinde zijn drager te begunstigen met een volledige bescherming tegen elke aanval van het kwaad. De onderzijde draagt magische tekens waaronder Griekse klinkers geschreven zijn die ontdaan zijn van elke logische betekenis. Het stuk dateert uit de Grieks-Romeinse Periode.
Cette intaille en cornaline devait s'insérer dans une monture afin de favoriser son porteur d'une protection totale contre chaque attaque du mal. La partie inférieure porte des caractères magiques sous lesquels sont notés des voyelles grecques dépourvues de tout sens logique. La pièce date de la Période Gréco-romaine.
Diese Karneolgemme sollte in einer Fassung befestigt werden, um ihrenTräger vollständig gegen jeglichen feindlichen Angriff zu beschützen. Der untere Teil trägt magische Zeichen, unter die griechische Vokale ohne jeden logischen Sinn geschrieben wurden. Das Stück datiert in die Griechisch-Römische Zeit.
Questa pietra di cornalina lavorata a intaglio doveva inserirsi in una montatura in modo da favorire il suo portatore tramite una totale protezione contro ogni attacco del male. La parte inferiore reca dei caratteri magici sotto ai quali sono annotati delle vocali greche prive di qualsiasi senso logico. Il pezzo risale all'Epoca Greco-Romana.
Este objecto talhado em cornalina deveria inserir-se num engaste para ser usado e conferir ao seu proprietário a protecçao contra toda a maldade. A parte inferior mostra vários caracteres mágicos contendo vogais gregas desprovodas de qualquer sentido lógico. A peça data da Época Greco-Romana.
Esta cornalina grabada en hueco debía insertarse en una montura para que favoreciera a su portador con una protección total contra todos los ataques del mal. La parte inferior lleva unos caracteres mágicos bajo los cuales aparecen <!-->unas vocales griegas desprovistas de todo significado lógico. La pieza data de la Época Greco-Romana.
