Description
This vase in alabaster, dating from the Middle Kingdom, is part of a series of seven receptacles of small dimensions and divers forms which were found in a tomb at El-Riqqeh, during the excavations carried out by thr British School of Archaeology in Egypt. They served as unguent containers for the dead.

Deze albasten vaas, die dateert uit het Middenrijk, behoort tot een serie van zeven recipiënten met kleine afmetingen en met verschillende vormen die gevonden zijn in een graf in El-Riqqeh, tijdens opgravingen ondernomen door de British School of Archaeology in Egypt. Het diende om zalven voor de dode te bevatten.
Ce vase en albâtre, datant du Moyen Empire, fait partie d'une série de sept récipients de petite dimension et de diverses formes qui ont été retrouvés dans une tombe à El-Riqqeh, lors des fouilles entreprises par le British School of Archaeology in Egypt. Il servait à contenir des onguents destinés au mort.
Dieses Alabastergefäß aus dem Mittleren Reich gehört zu einer Reihe von sieben kleinen Gefäßen von unterschiedlicher Form, die in einem Grab in Riqqeh bei Grabungen der British School of Archaeology in Egypt gefunden wurden. Es diente der Aufbewahrung von Salben für den Toten.

Lieu de découverte: Le vase provient des fouilles entreprises par le British School of Archaeology in Egypt en 1912-1913 dans la nécropole d'El-Riqqa. État de conservation: Il se peut que le vase contenait un couvercle qui a actuellement disparu (comparer E. 4480 A).
