Description
This shell of a marine bivalve mollusc (of the "ostria" type) bears wear marks, especially on the exterior, and is very worn and polished. It still contains a black deposit (possibly kohl), which proves that it was used as a small container for cosmetic paints.

Cette coquille de mollusque lamellibranche marin, très certainement du genre ostria, présente des marques d'usure, en particulier l'extérieur qui est très usé et poli. Il contient encore un dépôt noirâtre, peut-être du kohol, qui prouve qu'il a été utilisé comme petit récipient à fard.
