Description
This bottle in painted terracotta comes from the excavations of F. Griffith at Faras. Its shape, characterised by a round base and by a long neck without a handle, is typically egyptian. Its decoration of two horizontal bands of brown-red and white imitate that of the red receptacles of roman origin.

Deze fles uit beschilderd aardewerk is afkomstig van de opgravingen van F. Griffith te Faras. De vorm, een ronde voet en lange hals zonder buik, is typisch Egyptisch. De versiering, bestaand uit twee horizontale banden in bruinrood en wit, imiteert de versiering van rood vaatwerk van Romeinse origine.
Cette bouteille en terre cuite peinte provient des fouilles de F. Griffith à Faras. Sa forme, se caractérisant par une base ronde et par un long col sans anse, est typiquement égyptienne. Sa décoration de deux bandeaux horizontaux en brun-rouge et blanc imite celle des récipients rouges d'origine romaine.
Diese Flasche aus gebranntem Ton stammt aus den Grabungen von F. Griffith in Faras. Die Form mit runder Basis und langem, henkellosem Hals ist typisch ägyptisch. Die Dekoration aus zwei horizontalen Bändern in rotbraun und schwarz ahmt diejenige von roten Behältern römischen Ursprungs nach.
Questa bottiglia di terracotta dipinta proviene dagli scavi di F. Griffith a Faras. La sua forma, che si caratterizza per una base rotonda e per un lungo collo senza ansa, é tipicamente egiziana. La sua decorazione di due fasce orizzontali di bruno-rosso e bianco imita quella dei recipienti rossi di origine romana.
Este unguentário de terracota pintada é proveniente das escavaçöes de F. Griffith em Faras. A sua forma, que se caracteriza por uma base redonda e um gargalo alto e sem asa, é tipicamente egípcia. A sua decoraçäo, com duas faixas horizontais em castanho, vermelho e branco, imita a dos recipientes vermelhos de origem romana.
